About Dancing Stars of Wilkes-Barre
This exciting event is modeled after the popular ABC hit television show, “Dancing with the Stars.” Local Wilkes-Barre ‘celebrities’ are paired with professional dancers to compete for two coveted trophies. They'll work together with their dance partner to prepare one dance for an evening performance in 2025.
Our event benefits KISS Theatre Company, an inclusive children’s theatre whose mission is to provide arts education to the children of the Wyoming Valley.

How it works
There are two prizes to win within our event: the People’s Choice mirror ball trophy and the Judge’s Choice mirror ball trophy.
The People’s Choice trophy is awarded to the dancing team that receives the most public votes. Each dollar you donate equals one vote. So vote big and vote often to help your team win! You can donate as many votes as you'd like, and vote as many times as you want. Voting is open until 15 minutes after the last dance in 2025, then our People's Choice Mirror Ball Trophy winner will be announced.
The Judge’s Choice trophy is awarded based upon the judges’ scores on the night of the event. Our judges will be a panel of local dignitaries, and they will each have golden paddles to give a score (1 to 10) for each dancing team. The scores will be tallied and the winning couple will be awarded their trophy at the end of the show.

About KISS Theatre Company
KISS Theatre Company is a 501 (C) 3 non-profit children’s educational theatre and enrichment program that strives to create a safe space for all children ages 4 thru 12th grade, regardless of race, gender, creed, mental or physical disability, and/or LGBT status. Students gain lifelong educational values such as teamwork, empathy, responsibility, community service, and creativity through the study and performance of theatrical arts including, but not limited to, drama, music, dance, technical theatre and design.
Children enrolled in the KISS Theatre workshops gain far more than experience in the performing arts. Here, children learn the importance of teamwork; they learn the value of their own unique talents and gifts, while witnessing the unique talents and gifts of other children. They learn in an environment of acceptance, free of pressure. KISS children often return for additional workshops and form new friendships with like-minded peers. Most importantly, these children grow up and are thankful their hometown provided them with such a positive and productive environment.
